This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) describes the manner in which elkue.com (the “Site”) collects, uses, retains, and discloses information from and about persons who access the Site (“Users”). By accessing or otherwise using the Site, Users acknowledge that they have read and understood this Policy. Users who do not agree with any provision of this Policy should discontinue use of the Site.

1. Information Collected

1.1 Information Provided Voluntarily. Certain pages of the Site make available optional electronic mail subscription forms. Where a User elects to submit an electronic mail address by means of such a form, the Site records the electronic mail address submitted, the date and time of submission, and the Internet Protocol address from which the submission originated. Submission is voluntary in all cases and is not a condition of access to any material published on the Site.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically. The Site’s hosting provider maintains server access logs in the ordinary course of operating a web server. Such logs may contain Internet Protocol addresses, browser user-agent strings, referring uniform resource locators, and timestamps corresponding to requests made to the server.

1.3 Information Not Collected. The Site does not provide user accounts, user registration, commenting functionality, or electronic commerce functionality, and accordingly does not collect information incidental to any such functionality.

2. Cookies and Local Storage

2.1 The Site does not set first-party cookies.

2.2 The Site records a single value in the local storage facility of the User’s browser for the sole purpose of retaining the User’s selected display preference. Such value is retained on the User’s device, is not transmitted to the Site or to any third party, and may be removed by the User at any time by means of ordinary browser controls.

2.3 Content embedded from third parties may set cookies in accordance with the policies of the respective third parties. Reference is made to Section 4 below.

3. Analytics

3.1 The Site utilizes Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, for the purpose of compiling aggregate statistics concerning use of the Site, including counts of page views, approximate geographic region, and device category.

3.2 Users may decline collection by Google Analytics by installing the browser add-on made available for that purpose at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

4. Third-Party Content and Service Providers

4.1 Certain pages of the Site incorporate content hosted by third parties, including but not limited to video players, audio players, and interactive cartographic services. Such content is delivered directly from the servers of the applicable third party. The collection, use, and disclosure of information by any such third party is governed by the privacy policy of that third party and not by this Policy.

4.2 Notifications generated in connection with the subscription forms described in Section 1.1 are transmitted by means of Resend, a third-party electronic mail delivery service, acting as a processor on behalf of the Site.

5. Use and Disclosure of Information

5.1 Information collected pursuant to Section 1.1 is used solely for the purpose of corresponding with Users who have requested such correspondence.

5.2 The Site does not sell, rent, lease, trade, or otherwise disclose information collected pursuant to Section 1.1 to any third party, save as required by applicable law or as necessary to effect the services described in Section 4.2.

6. Retention and Deletion

6.1 Information collected pursuant to Section 1.1 is retained until such time as deletion is requested or the Site ceases operation, whichever occurs first.

6.2 A User may request deletion of information relating to that User by directing a request to the address set forth in Section 9. Such requests are processed within a reasonable period following receipt.

7. Children’s Privacy

7.1 The Site is not directed to children under the age of thirteen (13) years and does not knowingly collect information from any such person. Any information believed to have been so collected will be deleted upon becoming known to the Site.

8. Amendment

8.1 This Policy may be amended from time to time without prior notice to Users. The date set forth at the head of this Policy indicates the date upon which the Policy was most recently revised. Continued use of the Site subsequent to the posting of any such revision constitutes acceptance of the Policy as revised.
